Baltimore County Public Schools officially named Dr. William Heiser its next superintendent after the Board of Education approved his appointment at an in-person meeting in Towson, as noted by Baltimore Chronicle.

New Leadership For BCPS

Heiser will succeed Dr. Myriam Rogers, who retires on July 1. His selection followed a nationwide search and state approval.

The district emphasized his Maryland education background. He most recently served as chief operating officer for Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

Heiser has nearly 3 decades in education. He previously led Catonsville High School from 2013 to 2015 and later served as president of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
