Congressional Primary Winners

Several closely watched congressional contests also produced clear nominees. The most significant results included:

  • Adrian Boafo won the Democratic primary in Maryland’s 5th District.
  • April McClain Delaney defeated former Representative David Trone in District 6.
  • Kweisi Mfume secured renomination in Maryland’s 7th District.

Boafo is seeking to replace retiring Representative Steny Hoyer. McClain Delaney stopped Trone’s attempt to regain his former House seat.

What Happens After the Maryland Primary?

The nominees advance to the general election on November 3, 2026. Moore enters the campaign as the incumbent, while Cox seeks a different result from their 2022 contest.

Official totals will continue changing as remaining ballots are counted. Maryland’s election board will publish certified results after local canvassing and required audits.
