Baltimore Ravens practice squad moves brought an immediate surprise after final roster cuts. Baltimore added veteran kicker Jake Moody while retaining several familiar players. The move creates direct competition for Tyler Loop before the regular season, as Baltimore Chronicle reports.
The Ravens officially announced 15 initial practice-squad signings on August 31. FOX Baltimore reported that 2 available spots remained. The expanded limit includes an international-player position occupied by defensive lineman David Olajiga.
Jake Moody joins the Ravens
Jake Moody is the only player in the initial group who arrived from outside Baltimore’s preseason roster. His presence makes the kicking situation considerably more interesting.
Moody previously worked around Ravens head coach Jesse Minter at Michigan in 2022. San Francisco selected him in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
He later kicked for Chicago and Washington. The Ravens say Moody converted 10 of 11 field-goal attempts for Washington during the 2025 season.
Tyler Loop, meanwhile, finished the 2026 preseason 5-for-8. He missed 3 attempts, including kicks from 51 and 58 yards.
The numbers explain why Baltimore wanted another option.

Moody does not automatically replace Loop. However, Baltimore now has an experienced alternative available if its kicking problems continue.
Adisa Isaac returns after roster cut
Another notable name is Adisa Isaac. The Ravens released the former third-round pick during the final reduction to 53 players.
No other NFL team claimed him. Baltimore therefore brought the outside linebacker back through its practice squad.
Isaac had 6 tackles and 1 sack against Washington in Baltimore’s final preseason game. Injuries limited his opportunities during his first 2 NFL seasons.
Several other familiar players also returned:

- Rayshaun Benny, DT;
- Nick Dawkins, C;
- Chris Moore, WR;
- Amani Oruwariye, CB;

The continuity gives Baltimore experienced depth behind its 53-man roster. It also keeps developmental players inside Jesse Minter’s system.
Why the Ravens still have open practice-squad spots
The initial announcement contained 15 players rather than a completely filled group. David Olajiga occupies the additional international pathway position.
That leaves Baltimore room for further roster maneuvering. Injuries, waiver activity and evaluations around the league could quickly change the group.
Only center Corey Bullock was claimed after Baltimore’s cuts, according to the Ravens. Carolina added him to its roster.
For now, the most consequential development concerns special teams. Ravens kicker competition has become a genuine storyline entering Week 1.
Moody provides insurance. Loop still owns the active roster position. His next kicks could determine whether that hierarchy survives.
