Lionel Richie had another health scare in June

This is the second reported medical incident involving Richie during his 2026 tour.

On June 24, he became dizzy during a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Richie performed “Dancing on the Ceiling” while sitting down and later ended the show early.

He subsequently returned to the stage.

The two incidents involved several similar details:

  • discomfort or dizziness during a performance;
  • the need to sit down onstage;
  • medical evaluation after the concert;
  • a relatively quick expected return to normal activity.

Still, no official information currently establishes that the June and August incidents have the same medical cause.

What is known about Lionel Richie’s condition now

For now, the clearest information remains limited. Richie reportedly admitted himself for testing, possible dehydration is being investigated, and discharge could come as early as September 1.

There has been no official announcement of a serious underlying illness. Further details will depend on Richie, his representatives or medical information they choose to release.
