Maryland 2026 general election ballots have been officially certified and posted online for public review. The State Board of Elections approved their content and arrangement on August 31. The move starts the final preparation phase before November voting, as Baltimore Chronicle reports.
The Maryland State Board of Elections has published certified ballots for Baltimore City and every Maryland county. CBS Baltimore reported the certification on September 1. Registered voters have until the close of business on September 3 to seek judicial review.
What Maryland ballot certification means for voters
Certification fixes the content and arrangement of the Maryland election ballot before printing begins. SBE can still make necessary corrections after the judicial review period closes.
State Elections Administrator Jared DeMarinis called certification the first step toward the general election. He urged residents to examine their ballots and decide how they plan to vote.
Maryland offers 3 voting methods:
- mail-in ballot;
- early in-person voting;
- in-person voting on Election Day.
Voters can therefore choose a method before November. Those using a mail ballot should also check the applicable request and return deadlines.
When is the Maryland general election in 2026?
The Maryland general election 2026 is scheduled for November 3. Polling places will operate from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Early voting centers will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. between October 22 and October 29. Voters may use any early voting center in their county of residence.
How to vote in Maryland in November
Residents who are not registered can use the state’s online voter system. Registered voters can also update their address, name and other registration information.
A Maryland mail-in ballot must be requested before the relevant deadline. Requests for ballots delivered by mail are due October 27. Electronic ballot requests remain available through October 30.
Mail ballots must be postmarked or deposited in an authorized drop box by 8 p.m. on November 3. SBE recommends checking voting information before Election Day rather than waiting until the final week.
