The Ukrainian leader, together with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, met with officers who are undergoing professional military education courses according to standards North Atlantic Alliance, NBN reports.
During the meeting, the head of state expressed the opinion that our country would not be able to become a member of the organization during the war with the Russian Federation. This is due to the fact that some NATO members feel a risk or are skeptical about Ukraine’s integration into the military-political bloc.
As the guarantor noted, the issue of the Alliance is a matter for the majority and this is a political aspect. In this regard, according to the president, for Ukraine to join NATO, it must win the war with the Russian Federation.
Zelensky added that the Kremlin decided to invade our country precisely because it was not member of the military-political bloc of states. Moscow did everything to prevent Ukraine from becoming part of the Alliance, and in order to break away from this influence, we need to protect our independence by defeating the enemy.
Recall that the ex-commander of the NATO army in Europe, Wesley Clark, predicted how long The Russians will need it to start a war on the territory of the Alliance if Ukraine is defeated.
