After a meeting between Russian and US representatives in Riyadh, the representative of the Russian delegation, Grigory Karasin, stated that in the future the United Nations and other countries will be involved in the negotiation process on a ceasefire.
The adviser to the head of the OPU commented on the words of the Moscow representative, the NBN publication reports with reference to Ukrinform.
According to him, if the leadership of the aggressor country wants to see the UN in the negotiation process, this means that the Kremlin has some levers of influence on the organization – the right of veto in the Security Council.
The official explained that if Russia uses this tool to block decisions it does not like, the negotiation process will become more difficult or even impossible.
“We have been through this many times already,” added the representative of Zelensky’s Office.
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky reportedly said that the Russians were able to influence some people in the White House team.
