A military analyst said that the ceasefire under discussion is unlikely to affect Russia's plans to launch an offensive in Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia. Moscow is interested in taking a break from military operations to regroup its troops and stockpile weapons and ammunition.

NBN writes about this with reference to the UNIAN agency.

Dikiy noted that the US position on Russia and Ukraine's position on the conditions for a ceasefire are diametrically different. The Kremlin wants sanctions lifted, a refusal to compensate our country for losses, reparations, etc.

According to him, Putin’s main goal is to achieve conditions that will be tantamount to Kyiv’s capitulation: refusal to join NATO, reduction of the number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, deprivation of any international security guarantees for Ukraine, recognition of the occupied regions as Russian.

Given the fundamental differences in the parties' vision of a ceasefire, the military expert sees no prospects for achieving a real ceasefire in the coming months.

Let us recall that the analyst assessed the prospects of the Russian Armed Forces’ offensive in three regions of Ukraine.
