At the world-famous festival of daily mysteries, Burning Man 2024, which takes place near the Black Rock desert in Nevada, USA, anxiety began to rise. This happened at the moment when a similar signal was heard in Ukraine. This was inspired by the Ukrainian installation “I’m Fine”, which is part of the exhibition, writes WomanEL.
The anxiety was partly raised by the idea created in order to give festival participants the opportunity to experience it valuable connection with Ukrainian by the people. The installation “I’m Fine”, created by the Ukrainian artist Oleksiy Say and the founder of Ukrainian Witness Vitaly Deinego, is a symbol of the resilience and unbreakability of Ukraine in the minds of the war. Our goal is to create a place of shared experience through mysticism.
Siren is the reality of war. For many participants in the festival, this revelation came as a deep shock, and they could even sense the anxiety and stress that Ukrainians face every day. Mitzi created such an atmosphere that the Burning Man participants faced a similar situation, like millions of Ukrainians, since war is a part of everyday life, the organizers said.

The installation “I’m Fine” is made up of great writers who create the phrase as an ironic meme. The work demonstrates the ruins that became a legacy of the war in Ukraine, vikorist and related artifacts – shot marks, damaged tablets and other elements. The size of the installation (32 meters of curtain, 7 meters of curtain, over 10 tons of waste) allows festival organizers to understand the scale of the tragedy and the human stories behind these signs.
The sculpture is real, so is the war. I want the audience to feel close to the people of Ukraine, who suffered, and understand that we are fighting for power culture, for our identity. If the festivals are dedicated to sculptures, physically torn materials, cul-de-sacs, tricks, then they can sense the scale and the influx of war – and this is our reality,

I respect that it is important for our country to communicate with the world not only about the ravages of war: rocket attacks, bombings and other tragedies, but also about successful military operations. It is important that the world knows us not less in the context of the war. Ukraine has created a lot of creativity in a variety of areas, from science to technology. This leads to the development of empathy, which motivates others to help us, as people better understand our pain through emotional experiences and powerful traumatic evidence. When this happens, its support becomes meaningful and organic, so that it comes out not out of a sense of obligation or guilt, but out of a sense of love and emotional experience – the emotion that is universal for everyone, although their context and expression may be different,”
