ZAM’S opens its first U.S. restaurant in Pensacola, serving customizable burritos and bowls while supporting the Plate 4 Plate program.

Australian-born restaurant ZAM’S has opened its first U.S. location at 404 Brent Lane in Pensacola, Florida. The fast-casual concept serves customizable burritos and bowls, as the Baltimore Chronicle editorial team notes.

The opening introduces an American version of the food business created by Australian physician and entrepreneur Dr. Sam Prince. Its related international network operates hundreds of restaurants across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

What ZAM’S serves at its Pensacola restaurant

Customers can create meals by selecting a base, protein, fillings, sauces, and toppings. The format combines quick service with extensive customization.

The Pensacola menu centers on several core options:

  • made-to-order burritos;
  • customizable bowls;
  • different proteins and fresh toppings;
  • meals suitable for lunch or dinner;
  • takeaway and dine-in ordering.

The model gives customers control over ingredients and portion combinations. It also places ZAM’S against established fast-casual Mexican chains in Florida.

Founder Sam Prince said Pensacola had given the company an opportunity to prove itself. He added that the team hopes to make the city proud through strong customer service.

Plate 4 Plate program supports meal donations

The restaurant also brings the Plate 4 Plate initiative to the United States. Each eligible burrito or bowl purchased helps fund a meal for someone experiencing food insecurity.

The wider Zambrero network has donated more than 100 million meals through the program. Its humanitarian partners distribute meals within communities across Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

ZAM’S planned several community events around the Pensacola launch. These included a street takeover and a Sunday block party.

Organizers said attendance at the celebrations would support another donation of 100 meals. The campaign connects the local opening with the company’s international social mission.

Why ZAM’S chose Pensacola for its U.S. debut

Pensacola offers access to residents, students, military personnel, and Gulf Coast visitors. The Brent Lane address also places the restaurant near established retail and dining areas.

The Florida opening will test whether the Australian concept can attract American customers. Its performance could influence further expansion across the United States.
