The developers of Arc Raiders have surprised the gaming community with the sudden release of a new update that unlocks an entirely fresh map. The update, titled Act – North Line, is already live and challenges the entire Arc Raiders community to unite in order to gain access to this hidden area, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
The new cinematic trailer reveals that an underground transit line, previously blocked and forgotten, is now being unearthed. This newly discovered section is filled with traps and obstacles, seemingly placed to conceal whatever lies within from the outside world. The mystery deepens as the game offers no clear answers about who set these traps or why, although ongoing quests might hold clues. Players suspect that the same enigmatic faction responsible for destroying massive Arc machines in Blue Gate could be involved. Additionally, recurring seismic activity — a prominent part of Arc Raiders’ storyline — might hint at the continued existence of one of these colossal machines.
The soon-to-be-unlocked map, known as Stella Montis, introduces a dark and perilous new environment shrouded in secrecy. Two new enemy types, the Matriarch and the Shredder, will make their debut in this update. According to the official announcement, the update also adds fresh quests, new collectible items, and expanded gameplay mechanics, enriching the in-game world and exploration experience.
Alongside the content expansion, Embark Studios has implemented a balance patch designed to improve gameplay quality. The patch includes better server latency to smooth character movement, quest adjustments that fix previously bugged “one-round” collection missions, and a reduced delay between firing at Arc enemies and seeing damage effects. Developers have also addressed several terrain glitches that caused players to fall through the map and repaired broken achievements.
One of the more significant gameplay tweaks concerns the crafting of Wolfpack grenades. Players will now need three refined explosives and two Arc motion cores to make them. Embark also eliminated a long-standing exploit that allowed players to trap others in the Blue Gate control room — a humorous, if frustrating, aspect of the community’s recent gameplay.
With the Act – North Line update, Arc Raiders continues to evolve its narrative depth and world-building, challenging players to uncover new mysteries and survive the ever-changing dangers of its dystopian universe.
