The updated agreement provides for the possibility of limiting the export of certain categories of Ukrainian goods to the EU. If the EU market or the markets of one or more EU countries experience significant disruption due to Ukrainian imports, such as wheat, the regulation ensures that the European Commission can quickly respond and take any measures it deems necessary, the message says.

Also, to protect EU farmers, the trade liberalization regime can be urgently stopped for particularly sensitive agricultural products, namely poultry, eggs, sugar, oats, cereals, corn and honey.

If imports of these products exceed the average import volume registered in the second half of 2021, as well as for 2022 and 2023, tariffs will be revised.
