Roma drew with Juventus in the home match of the 31st round of the Italian Serie A – 1:1.
The meeting between the direct competitors for a place in the Champions League zone was equal and not rich in scoring chances. In the first half, the visitors were more accurate, and shortly before the break, their next shot hit the target – Manuel Locatelli shot well from the rebound from the semi-circle.
During the break, Claudio Ranieri brought on striker Eldor Shomurodov instead of defender Mats Hummels, who recently announced the end of his career. The substitution quickly brought results: the Uzbek scored from a meter, which was deflected by Michele Di Gregorio after a shot by Evan N'Dicki.
Later, the Turin team had more possession of the ball, and the Romans looked more convincing in attack, but neither Artem Dovbyk nor his partners were destined to bring victory to their team.
The Ukrainian forward came out in the starting lineup and played 84 minutes. This was his anniversary, 40th match of the season. In the previous 39, Artem scored 16 goals and made four assists.
The draw was in favor of competitors Bologna and Lazio. Juventus finishes the round in fifth place, Claudio Ranieri's team, which broke a series of seven victories in the championship, is in seventh.
The Old Lady will host Lecce on April 12 in the next round, while Roma will face Lazio in the derby the following day.
