On the night of July 20, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk secured a dominant victory over Britain’s Daniel Dubois, ending the bout with a knockout in the fifth round. The fight for the title of undisputed heavyweight world champion took place at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
This victory marked the third time in Usyk’s career that he has claimed the status of undisputed world champion. He first achieved the feat in 2018 by defeating Russia’s Murat Gassiev to unify all cruiserweight titles. In 2024, Usyk repeated this accomplishment in the heavyweight division by beating British boxer Tyson Fury.
The win over Dubois allowed the 38-year-old Ukrainian to maintain a perfect professional record: 24 wins in 24 fights, including 15 by knockout.
For the 27-year-old Dubois, this defeat was the third of his career. In total, he has fought 25 times, earning 22 wins — 21 of which came by knockout.
