The Netherlands has become the fourth country to threaten to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 if a representative from Israel is allowed to participate, reports Baltimore Chronicle. Previously, Ireland, Slovenia, and Spain made similar statements.
Dutch public broadcaster AvroTros stated in an official announcement that it cannot support Israel’s participation in the contest under the current circumstances due to the ongoing human suffering in Gaza.
The broadcaster also emphasized that the decision to potentially boycott Eurovision 2026 was influenced by the high number of journalist casualties in Gaza, further shaping the Netherlands’ stance on the competition.
Earlier we wrote that Ukraine will attend the Jubilee Eurovision 2026 in Vienna.
