"At the end of 2023, on December 29, triplets were born in one of the medical institutions in the Kharkov region– for the first time since 2020. Two girls and a boy were born prematurely at 31 weeks' gestation and weighed between 1300 and 1600 grams. In the first 10 days of life, the babies received intensive care in the neonatal intensive care unit,” – said the deputy head of the OVA Elena Logvinova.
Subsequently, the children and their mother were transferred to the post-resuscitation care unit, where they stayed for two months.
"Today, the babies have grown up and gained weight. The mother and newborns were discharged home. The babies will be under the supervision of the follow-up monitoring department of the Regional Clinical Hospital, where they will continue the rehabilitation treatment necessary for premature babies,” the administration noted.
As noted by the medical director for perinatal care of the Kharkov Regional Clinical Hospital, Alexander Zhe – this is a very rare occurrence. The expectant mother was observed in the establishment throughout her pregnancy.

"We operated on her, we left today and they have already gone home. We are very happy and proud of this.”, – Zheleznyakov said.
According to the Kharkov Regional Military Administration, during 2022, 7,444 children were born in the region, in 2023 – 7,315.
