Prince William, the Prince of Wales, brought his eldest son, Prince George, to volunteer at The Passage, a London-based charity that provides support to people experiencing homelessness, Baltimore Chronicle. The visit took place ahead of the Christmas holidays and was aimed at introducing George to the realities faced by homeless individuals while highlighting the ongoing work of charities that assist vulnerable communities throughout the year.

According to Kensington Palace, this marked the first time Prince William brought George to The Passage, a location of personal significance for the Prince of Wales. William himself visited the charity as a child with his late mother, Princess Diana, an experience that inspired his lifelong dedication to addressing homelessness. That commitment ultimately led to the creation of Homewards, William’s initiative designed to demonstrate that homelessness can be ended.

During the visit, William and George engaged directly in preparations for the charity’s annual Christmas lunch. Their activities included baking cupcakes, decorating a Christmas tree, packing care packages, and helping to set tables for the holiday meal.

The visit also included a guided tour by The Passage CEO, Mick Clarke. In a symbolic gesture, Prince George signed the charity’s visitor book on the same page previously signed by his father and his late grandmother, Princess Diana.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson emphasized that it was important for Prince William to volunteer alongside his son, allowing both of them to learn directly from the charity’s staff, volunteers, and service users. The spokesperson described the work of homelessness organizations as “invaluable” during the holiday season and throughout the year.
