2026 Emmy nominations place “The Pitt” at the front of television’s biggest awards race with 25 nods. “Hacks” follows with 24, setting a single-year record for a comedy series, as reported by the Baltimore Chronicle.
“The Pitt” and “Hacks” dominate the Emmy race
Noah Wyle received another lead actor nomination for the HBO Max medical drama. Jean Smart will compete again for her performance as Deborah Vance in “Hacks.”
Apple TV productions also gained ground. “Widow’s Bay” collected 19 nominations, while “Pluribus” received 18. The results create a competitive race across drama, comedy and limited-series categories.
The main series contenders include:
- Drama: “The Pitt,” “Pluribus,” “The Diplomat” and “Slow Horses.”
- Comedy: “Hacks,” “The Bear,” “Abbott Elementary” and “Widow’s Bay.”
- Limited series: “Beef,” “All Her Fault” and “The Beast in Me.”
Zendaya, Rhea Seehorn, Keri Russell, Lisa Kudrow, Ayo Edebiri and Quinta Brunson secured acting nominations. Noah Wyle, Gary Oldman, Matthew Rhys, Jason Bateman and Martin Short also entered major acting races.
Taylor Swift earns her second Emmy nomination
Taylor Swift received a nomination for “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show.” It marks the singer’s second career Emmy nomination.
Other notable contenders include Sally Field, Claire Danes, Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan and Sterling K. Brown. The Television Academy also recognised several first-time nominees across its expanded categories.
