White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that she is pregnant with her second child, sharing that she and her husband are expecting a baby girl in May 2026, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
Leavitt made the announcement on Friday through a personal post on social media, calling the pregnancy “the greatest Christmas gift” her family could receive. She wrote that she and her husband are excited to welcome a daughter and are looking forward to watching their son take on the role of an older brother. In the post, Leavitt also expressed gratitude for motherhood, describing it as a profound blessing in her life.
The White House press secretary separately noted her appreciation for the support she has received from President Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. According to Leavitt, the administration has created a pro-family environment that allows her to balance professional responsibilities with family life. She added that she is optimistic about the year ahead and shared her excitement about becoming a mother to a daughter.
Leavitt, who is 28 years old, currently holds the distinction of being the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary. She previously worked in the White House press office during President Trump’s first term and later served as press secretary for his 2024 presidential campaign.
In addition to her work in political communications, Leavitt ran for Congress in New Hampshire, her home state, in 2022, though her bid was unsuccessful.
She and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, welcomed their first child, a son named Nicholas “Niko” Robert Riccio, in 2024.
