The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards nominations revealed a mix of emerging talent and established cinematic names, with Warner Bros. Discovery leading the pack with a total of 27 nominations across two major films. Paul Thomas Anderson’s political thriller One Battle After Another secured 14 nominations, while Ryan Coogler’s vampire drama Sinners followed closely with 13, reports Baltimore Chronicle via Hollywood reporter. Other films in the running featured performances by Jessie Buckley in Hamnet, Kate Hudson in Song Sung Blue, Rose Byrne in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme, Michael B. Jordan in Sinners, and Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another.

Warner Bros. Discovery topped the distributor rankings, reflecting the strong performance of its two most-nominated films. Following closely, Universal Pictures/Focus Features amassed 24 nominations with multiple titles, including Hamnet (11), Bugonia (5), and The Ballad of Wallis Island (3). Netflix garnered 14 nominations, largely from Frankenstein (8), with other nods for films such as Apocalypse in the Tropics and Cover-Up. Smaller studios like Mubi also made a strong showing with 13 nominations, particularly for Sentimental Value (8), while Entertainment Film Distribution received 11 nominations solely for Marty Supreme.

Other notable entries in the BAFTA nominations included Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures with five nods for Avatar: Fire and Ash, Elio, Lilo & Stitch, and Zootropolis, StudioCanal with I Swear earning five nominations, and Picturehouse Entertainment with five nominations across Arco, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Pillion. Apple Original Films earned four nominations for F1 and The Lost Bus, while Sony Pictures Entertainment and Lionsgate International each received two nominations. A number of smaller companies, including A24, BBC, Bakrania Media, Break Out Pictures, Dogwoof, Icon Film Distribution, Tull Stories, and Vue Lumiere, secured individual nominations for their respective films.

The BAFTA nominations highlight both the dominance of major distributors like Warner Bros. Discovery and the increasing visibility of smaller, independent companies in the British film awards landscape.
