Six people have been confirmed dead following the impact of an Iranian ballistic missile in the central Israeli city of Beit Shemesh, as rescue operations continued at the scene, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to times of israel. Emergency services reported that the missile struck a residential neighborhood, causing significant destruction to buildings in the area.

First responders said the death toll increased after two additional bodies were recovered from beneath the rubble of damaged structures. Search and rescue teams worked for several hours to extract victims trapped under debris after the explosion tore through homes in the vicinity of the strike.

Medical personnel stated that 23 people were transported to hospitals for treatment. Among the injured, two individuals were listed in serious condition, three sustained moderate injuries, and 18 were reported to have suffered light wounds. Ambulance crews and paramedics provided on-site treatment before evacuating the wounded to nearby medical facilities.

Authorities have not released further details about the identities of the victims. Rescue and recovery efforts were ongoing as emergency teams continued to clear debris and assess structural damage in the affected residential zone.
