Newly released Epstein files show Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Peter Mandelson, and others maintained contact after his 2008 conviction, reports Baltimore Chronicle.

Millions of documents tied to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of child sex offenses in 2008, have been released by the U.S. Department of Justice, marking the largest disclosure since last year’s legislation mandated publication, reports Baltimore Chronicle via Guardian. The files provide new insight into Epstein’s continued connections with high-profile individuals, even after his conviction, including former royal figures, politicians, and prominent businessmen.

Emails indicate that former Prince Andrew, Duke of York, invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace after the financier’s house arrest ended. Correspondence from September 2010 shows Epstein requesting “private time” during a planned visit to London. The Duke reportedly responded, “We could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy,” and followed up with an invitation, allowing Epstein to bring guests. While it remains unclear if the Buckingham Palace meeting occurred, photographs later showed the two walking together in New York’s Central Park. Earlier, Epstein offered to arrange a dinner with a 26-year-old Russian woman described as “clever, beautiful and trustworthy,” to which the Duke responded positively and asked if Epstein was “good to be free” from house arrest.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and former wife of Prince Andrew, also maintained contact with Epstein. In August 2009, Ferguson sent an email thanking him for being the “brother” she had “always wished for,” referencing interactions with her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Ferguson implied that she met Epstein during his house arrest, though this has not been independently confirmed. The correspondence also touches on Ferguson’s business discussions regarding her “Sarah Ferguson brand.” Reports indicate Epstein provided Ferguson with at least £15,000 to cover debts, though some sources suggest more extensive financial support. Ferguson later described her relationship with Epstein as a “gigantic error of judgment” but continued private correspondence to apologize.

Documents further reveal that Epstein sent £10,000 to Lord Peter Mandelson’s husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, reportedly to fund an osteopathy course. Additional emails show Mandelson requesting to stay at one of Epstein’s properties while he served his jail term. Mandelson acknowledged he was “wrong” to maintain ties with Epstein after the conviction but denied complicity in Epstein’s crimes. He was removed as the UK’s ambassador to the U.S. in September 2025 after supportive messages to Epstein came to light.

The FBI files include a list of allegations submitted to its National Threat Operations Center hotline regarding Donald Trump, many unverified and sensational in nature. Trump, repeatedly referenced in the documents, has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities. The U.S. Department of Justice stated that some claims were submitted shortly before the 2020 election and are false, emphasizing that credible allegations would have already been pursued.

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk appears in the files in correspondence from November 2012, discussing potential visits to Epstein’s private island. Emails show Musk asking, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” Discussions continued into late 2013. Musk has not been accused of any wrongdoing and stated that reports suggesting he planned a visit on another occasion were false.
