On February 22, the Hungarian government published a statement on the second anniversary of the full-scale war.

In it, it called upon «both sides» sit down at the negotiating table. However, the statement never mentions that Russia is an aggressor state.
«After World War II and the Yugoslav Wars, the European continent is once again in the throes of open war, causing unimaginable losses and suffering. Hungary mourns the victims of war, expresses condolences to hundreds of thousands of widows and orphans, helps Ukraine care for the wounded and disabled of war, supports, because of its greatest history, a humanitarian aid program for those millions who have lost everything or become refugees, and actively contributes to the energy security of Ukraine, as well as its restoration,” the statement says.
At the same time, Hungary is convinced that the war in Ukraine cannot be ended on the battlefield. Consequently, officials called on the parties to cease fire and sit down at the negotiating table.
«Protecting the sovereignty of Ukraine is an elementary interest of Hungary, and the Hungarian government will continue to resolutely support this in all relevant forums,” the Hungarian government summarized.
We recall that it was previously reported that the turning point in the war is already beginning: US officials admitted what they expect in the spring.
