Anatoly Bargilevich has become the new chief of the ZSU General Staff. Until this very day, Sergey Shaptala was captured.
RBC-Ukraine reports about this through a video message sent by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The new chief of the General Staff, following the proposal of the head of the commander Oleksandr Sirsky, recognized Major General Anatoly I Bargilevich. The people have been satisfied – the understanding of this war and the Ukrainian goals,” said the head of state.
Following Zelensky’s words, today Sirsky nominated the candidacies of his intercessors. The intercessors of the Chief of the General Staff are also designated.
“I will sign additional decrees. All the boys – combatants, fakhovs, leathermen – have a clear knowledge of the front and the real needs of the Ukrainian soldiers,” he added.
< p>It’s significant how much Bargilevich has fallen in love with the Territorial Defense Forces.
Who is Bargilevich
At the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, Bargilevich took over the planting of the operational preparation department of the Head Operations Directorate of the General Staff. He previously served at the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
In 2016, Bargilevich was appointed head of the operational directorate of the Ground Forces Command, responsible for the development of territorial defense.

In the period from 2020 to 2022, Major General was appointed as the intercessor commander of the Ground Forces – commander of the Territorial Defense Command. In 2022-2023, the military personnel of the OSUV “Khortytsia” will be removed. The commander of this grouping, Sirsky, was named the head commander of the ZSU.
At the end of 2023, Bargilevich was appointed commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the ZSU.
Reshuffles in the ZSU
Yesterday, Zelensky Zvilniv Valery Zaluzhny from the imprisonment of heads ZSU commander, and on the 5th place, recognizing Oleksandr Sirsky, who was so fond of the Land Forces.
Today, RBC-Ukraine from the authorities became aware that Bargilevich was being considered for the position of the Chief of the General Staff of the ZSU Deputy Shaptali.
