Anatoly Tymoshchuk wants to return the titles and awards taken from him.
On April 22, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne will begin hearings on the claim of the former captain of the Ukrainian national football team Anatoly Tymoshchuk against the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), which erased him from the history of the Ukrainian football.
This is reported on the official website of CAS.
On March 11, 2022, the UAF Control and Disciplinary Committee decided to punish Tymoshchuk, who, after the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, did not stop working in coaching staff of the St. Petersburg Zenit and did not make a single public statement regarding the actions of the terrorist state.
Anatoly was deprived of all titles, awards, honorary titles, a coaching license and was banned for life from engaging in football activities on the territory of Ukraine.
Later, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposed personal sanctions against Tymoshchuk for a period of 10 years. He was banned from entering Ukraine. He is also deprived of all state awards, does not have the right to receive ownership of land plots, all his assets are blocked – finances, movable and immovable property.
Tymoshchuk tried to appeal the deprivation of his football regalia in the UAF Appeals Committee, but failed failure. After that, he turned to CAS.
Recall that Tymoshchuk was the record holder for the number of matches played for the Ukrainian national team – 144 matches in a blue and yellow T-shirt.
