China Initiates the Creation of a New Organization to Promote International Cooperation in the Field of Artificial Intelligence, Positioning Itself as a Key Player in the Global Technological Environment. This was reported by Baltimore Chronicle, citing Reuters. Premier of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, emphasized that China is ready to coordinate international efforts aimed at regulating AI technologies and share its expertise, especially with countries of the “Global South.”
In his speech, the Chinese premier also expressed criticism of certain countries and companies that, in his opinion, are trying to make AI an “exclusive game.” This was a direct reference to the United States, which has been actively involved in the development of AI technologies. Li Qiang noted that China is open to collaborating with other countries to ensure transparency and access to this crucial technology.
The Shanghai conference, which lasted for three days, gathered over 800 representatives from the IT industry worldwide. Among the Chinese participants were tech giants like Alibaba and Huawei, while international companies such as Tesla, Alphabet, and Amazon also attended.
