Krispy Kreme Pokémon doughnuts arrived on August 18, marking Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with a colorful limited-edition U.S. collection. Six designs feature Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Jigglypuff and the familiar Poké Ball, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
The official Krispy Kreme release confirms availability at participating shops while supplies last. Additional launch details were reported by People. The promotion runs through September 13 at participating U.S. and Canadian Krispy Kreme shops.
What Is in the Krispy Kreme Pokémon Doughnut Collection?
The new menu uses familiar characters but gives each doughnut a distinct flavor profile. The collection is built as much for collectors as for dessert buyers.
- Bulbasaur combines Original Glazed with vanilla icing and green frosting.
- Charmander has chocolate and toasted marshmallow filling with caramel icing.
- Squirtle adds cotton candy buttercreme, sugar and nonpareils.
- Pikachu comes with lemon-flavored Kreme, vanilla icing and yellow decorations.
- Jigglypuff uses strawberry buttercreme and strawberry cookie pieces.
- Poké Ball combines Original Glazed, vanilla icing, red sprinkles and chocolate icing.
Krispy Kreme also created special Pokémon packaging for its themed dozen. Five collectible cup designs contain 10 Original Glazed Gold Doughnut Dots.

The full collection is available through participating Krispy Kreme shops, drive-thrus, pickup and delivery channels. Selected retailers also receive a smaller six-count assortment.

How to Get a Free Krispy Kreme Doughnut on August 22
There is another reason for Pokémon fans to visit on Saturday, August 22. Customers wearing Pokémon-themed attire can receive one free Original Glazed doughnut at participating locations.
The giveaway turns the anniversary release into a one-day fan event. No purchase requirement was reported with the attire promotion.
Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme’s chief brand and product officer, described the launch as a celebration of Pokémon-inspired flavors and fan surprises. The collaboration arrives exactly 30 years after the franchise began its global rise in 1996.
