Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov assured that Moscow will not launch attacks with drones or missiles on European countries and has no plans to strike NATO member states or the European Union, reports Baltimore Chronicle, citing RIA Novosti and TASS. Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly and during the press conference that followed, Lavrov expressed concern that there are increasingly frequent statements suggesting the use of force against Russia allegedly due to its intentions toward the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union.
“President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly denied such provocative claims. Russia has never had and does not have intentions to attack NATO or the EU, yet any aggression against our country will be met with a decisive response,” Lavrov emphasized. He also stated that Russia is not directing missiles or unmanned aerial vehicles at targets in Europe or NATO countries.
Furthermore, the Russian foreign minister warned that any attempts to shoot down aerial objects over Russian territory will have serious consequences for those who attempt it.
