Glen Burnie farmers market returns Thursday with more than 30 vendors, food trucks, live music and free ice cream for visitors on opening day. The 2026 season will run every Thursday from 4–7 p.m. through September 24, giving residents a longer window to shop locally and meet small producers, as noted by Baltimore Chronicle.
Why the market season is longer in 2026
The expanded schedule came after requests from residents and vendors. Kayleigh De La Puente of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation said the community wanted more market days, including a start in June and dates through September.
“We listened and we’re very happy to be able to expand the season from June to the end of September this year,” De La Puente said.
What visitors will find at Glen Burnie Farmers Market
The market will feature fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, prepared food and community entertainment. Schmidt Family Farm is among the returning vendors, bringing strawberries, honey and seasonal products.
Visitors can expect:
- more than 30 local vendors;
- 17 food trucks during the season;
- live music and performances;
- free ice cream on opening day.
After last year’s interest, organizers expect stronger turnout and more visibility for small businesses.

Local farms and small businesses get a bigger platform
For Schmidt Family Farm, the market is also about keeping a family tradition alive. Heather Schmidt said farming has been part of her family since 1921, while northern Anne Arundel County has fewer farms than in the past.
Iconic Bakery owner Stacey-Marie Williams said the market creates more than sales. It gives neighbors, bakers, farmers and business owners a place to meet offline.
