Ukraine does not see any need to reset relations with Poland in politics, military cooperation and support, but it needs to be done in economic matters.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba in an interview as part of the national telethon “United News”, Ukrinform reports.
“It is appropriate to talk about rebooting relations in the economic sector. We do not need to reset relations in politics, in military cooperation, in the support we receive from Poland on the way to the European Union and NATO. But relations on economic issues need to be reset. This is true,” said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.
He noted that a meeting of the Polish government has already taken place and very intensive contacts are taking place between the governments of Poland and Ukraine.
The signals we receive from Poland indicate that they are committed to solving problems. We are also committed to solving problems, but in a fair way. If any actions of Polish protesters do not comply with Poland’s international obligations, then priority should be given to international obligations, because this is how the world works,” the minister said.
As Ukrinform reported, on December 22, the new head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, arrived in Ukraine on his first foreign visit in this post. During the visit of his Polish colleague, Dmitry Kuleba noted that there is a desire to resolve problematic issues in relations between Ukraine and Poland on both sides.
