Head of the press center of the operational command «South» Natalya Gumenyuk reported that the Russian Federation has placed two submarines on combat duty in the Black Sea. Eight missiles of the “Caliber” type are ready for launch.
«In the Black Sea, the enemy naval group has been somewhat reduced. Surface missile carriers were brought to their bases at night. Two submarines remain on combat duty (eight missiles of the “Caliber” type) ready for use», — noted Gumenyuk.
According to her, underwater missiles are more difficult to detect, so there is no need to ignore air warning signals.
«Let me remind you that detecting launches from submarines is somewhat difficult: in this case, the missiles are directed very low above the water and it is very difficult to detect them. Consequently, there may be only a few minutes between the detection of an air target and a direct strike. Therefore, in this case, air alarm signals must be treated very carefully and react», — Gumenyuk warned.
