The Harford County Health Department confirmed the positive test on Friday, June 26. Anyone who touched the raccoon, or whose pet encountered it, should call 410-877-2300 immediately.
Rabies spreads through infected saliva, usually after a bite or scratch. Officials have not announced any confirmed human infections linked to this case.

Health authorities issued several precautions for people living near Street:
