UN cannot verify information about North Korean weapons for Russians

The Secretary General's representative shifted responsibility to the Security Council.

Fragments of Korean missiles that were found in the Kharkov region The UN does not have a notification about Russia receiving weapons from North Korea “or any other country.” This position was voiced by the Secretary General's spokesman Stephane Dujarric, answering questions from an Ukrinform correspondent.

The representative shifted responsibility for responding to such cooperation between two authoritarian states to the UN Security Council: it “has available mechanisms to consider these issues.”

To this, Mr. Dujarric also added that the UN “has repeatedly condemned the shelling of civilians and civilian infrastructure” and also “reminds that all member states comply with the adopted sanctions.”
