Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made a new controversial statement, claiming that as a result of the current negotiations on security guarantees for Ukraine, its territory could be divided into three zones — Russian, demilitarized, and western, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Magyar Nemzet.
According to Orbán, Europe has effectively already acknowledged the existence of a “Russian zone,” and now the discussions focus only on its size and format. He noted that the issue of a demilitarized territory remains unresolved.
The politician emphasized that current talks about security guarantees for Ukraine actually mask the process of dividing the country. In his view, the outcome will result in three separate zones: Russian, demilitarized, and western. “The Russian zone already exists, and now the debate is only about how many regions it should include,” Orbán stated.
