Kamala Harris suggested she might run for U.S. president again in 2028, expressing confidence that America will soon see its first female leader.

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has hinted that she is considering another bid for the White House. In her first interview with British media, Harris said it is “possible” she could become president one day, expressing confidence that America will eventually have a woman in the Oval Office. Her remarks mark the strongest suggestion yet that she may enter the 2028 presidential race following her loss to Donald Trump last year, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to BBC.

During an appearance on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, Harris launched a sharp critique of her former rival, calling Trump a “tyrant” and saying that her previous warnings about his authoritarian tendencies had proven true. When asked directly whether she could see herself in the White House, Harris replied simply, “Possibly.” Although she said no final decision had been made, she emphasized that her political career was far from over: “I’m not done. Public service has always been a part of my life — it’s in my bones.”

Despite polls ranking her as an outsider for the Democratic nomination — even placing her behind Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — Harris insisted she never relied on polling numbers. “If I had listened to polls, I wouldn’t have run for my first or second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here today,” she said.

Harris also stated that her predictions about Trump using the Department of Justice as a political weapon had come true. She pointed to the suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel from ABC after he joked about Republican reactions to the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. According to Harris, the move followed pressure from Trump-appointed regulators.

The former vice president further criticized major U.S. corporations for, in her view, bowing too easily to Trump’s administration. “Many have bent the knee since day one, eager to stay close to power — whether to secure mergers or avoid investigations,” she said.

The White House responded sharply to Harris’s statements. Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson commented: “When Kamala Harris lost the election in a landslide, she should have taken the hint — the American people are not interested in her absurd lies.”

Harris is currently promoting her new book 107 Days, which recounts her turbulent campaign after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race amid ongoing concerns about his health. Speaking to BBC, Harris admitted that Trump’s victory was a devastating shock to her and her team.

She emphasized that the popular vote had been tight — less than a 2% margin — although Trump’s advantage in the decisive Electoral College was far greater. Harris believes that her late entry into the campaign was a key reason for her loss.

Now, while touring for her book, Harris once again finds herself in the spotlight. Although she has not officially announced another campaign, her tone has become more direct and determined. Despite the pain of her previous defeat, Harris made it clear that her political ambitions remain alive — and her fight for America’s future is not over.
