Baltimore road closures will affect drivers across the city this weekend as Orioles home games, the Festival of India and several community events reshape traffic patterns. The Baltimore City Department of Transportation warned that lane closures, detours and temporary stops may cause delays from Friday through Sunday, especially near Camden Yards, the Inner Harbor and downtown corridors, as noted by Baltimore Chronicle.
Orioles games will change traffic near Camden Yards
Road restrictions near Camden Yards begin around game times through Sunday. Hamburg Street will close from Leadenhall to Paca Streets, while Camden Street will close from Paca to Howard Streets. The northbound service lane beside M&T Bank Stadium will also be closed. Drivers heading downtown should avoid the stadium area before first pitch.
The most affected periods are expected Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Officials recommend using Waze for live detour information. Drivers should plan extra time if they are traveling toward the Inner Harbor or south Baltimore.
Festival of India brings closures near the Inner Harbor
The Festival of India and Parade will take place Saturday at McKeldin Square. The parade starts at noon near Light and Pratt Streets. Participants will move south on Light Street and east on Key Highway before finishing at Rash Field.
Key changes include:
- Northbound Light Street closed between Pratt and Lee Streets from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Westbound Key Highway double right lane closed between Battery Avenue and Lee Street.
- Eastbound Conway Street closed between Charles and Light Streets.
- Covington Street curb lane closed between Key Highway and Cross Street.
Police and transportation officers will manage traffic along the route. Temporary traffic stops may happen for parade safety. Alternate routes are strongly recommended.

Other weekend closures across Baltimore
Several closures are tied to festivals, school events, cleaning work and crane operations. These changes will affect both local drivers and visitors.
| Area | Time | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Preston Street | Through June 1 | Greek Orthodox Festival |
| Exeter and Stiles Streets | May 28 to June 1 | St. Anthony Festival |
| Monument Street | Saturday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Crane operation |
| Patterson Park Avenue | Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Crane operation |
| I-83 / Jones Falls Expressway | Sunday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Cleaning work |
The Baltimore Farmers’ Market will also bring Sunday closures under the Jones Falls Expressway. Holliday Street and Pleasant Street will be affected from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parking restrictions will also be in place.
What drivers should know before leaving
The city expects delays in downtown Baltimore, around stadium access points and near the Inner Harbor. Drivers should check routes before departure and avoid last-minute trips through event zones. The safest option is to use detours early, not after traffic starts building. Baltimore traffic may move slower than usual throughout the weekend.
