Ukrainian intelligence admits that Telegram contains a number of threats to the security of Ukraine, and it is necessary to look for options to solve this problem. This was stated by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrey Yusov at an event at the Ukraine Media Center – Ukrinform.

“As for Telegram, the threats it poses to society are real. This is not about individual users or individual media represented on this platform, but a question about the platform itself.
It includes a whole range of threats to the information, and not only the information security of our country. Yes, this question needs to be answered, and I think that this will definitely happen.”
According to Yusov, Ukraine is now building communication with the administrations of all platforms, including Telegram, in order to work according to transparent rules : both in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and in accordance with international standards.
“With some people it is better to solve this, with others it is more difficult. With Telegram it is the most difficult. This is constant work, multi-level: both on the territory of the platform itself by creating content that would destroy myths, explain and cover the target audience, and work from the point of view of normalizing the activities of these platforms. All these measures are being taken, but there is still a lot of work.”
