Ukraine believes that it is very correct to strengthen on the battlefield, but it is also correct to strengthen diplomatically. We do not want any formats of negotiations or peace formulas to be imposed on us, even if these are initiatives of countries- partners, President Vladimir Zelensky said in response to questions from the editor-in-chief of LB.ua at a press conference.
The initiative for peace can only come from Ukraine. The peace formula was started at the G19 summit in Indonesia.
“Today we have come to the moment of the first summit. The first inaugural summit, it will take place, I hope it will be in the spring. We cannot lose this diplomatic initiative. It will be in Switzerland,” he said.

President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine lost 31,000 military personnel during the full-scale war. He said this during a press conference in response to questions from a telethon journalist.
“31,000 Ukrainian military personnel died in this war. Not 300 thousand, not 150 thousand, whatever Putin is lying about his deceitful circle,” he said.
The President emphasized that every loss is a big loss for us. He called the first official announcement of losses “a serious moment.”
Zelensky said that different sides called different false losses: both 100,000 and 300,000 Ukrainians. “This is all a lie. All this is absolute nonsense,” the president said. After a short pause, he named the number of dead – 31,000. He added that 180,000 Russians were killed. And the total losses of Russia, including the wounded, were up to 500,000.

The Russians again shot Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered. This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets.
Another war crime probably occurred on February 24, 2024 in the Bakhmut region.
