The American financial and economic magazine Forbes has published an annual ranking of the richest people in the world, which includes a record number of billionaires from the aggressor country. In addition, this figure could be higher.

The Forbes ranking of the richest people for 2024 included 2,781 billionaires, of which 125 were businessmen from a terrorist state. This number of Russian rich people has become a record, NBN reports with reference to the publication Kreschatic.
Before this, the record in the ranking of the American publication was set three years ago – 121 billionaires from the Russian Federation. After February 24, 2022, the number of billionaires from the aggressor country decreased to 88 people, in 2023 there were 110.
The media named the owner of one of the largest oil companies in the Russian Federation, Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov as the richest Russian – his fortune totals 28.6 billion dollars.
As journalists clarified, there could have been more citizens of the aggressor country in the ranking of the richest people in the world, but ten billionaires refused a Russian passport after the start of a full-scale invasion.
Over the year, the leaders of the Forbes ranking remained unchanged: in first place is Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy President Bernard Arnault with a fortune of $233 billion, in second place is the scandalous American entrepreneur Elon Musk with a fortune of $195 billion. The top three is completed by Amazon creator Jeff Bezos, whose fortune amounts to 194 billion.
