Lunin has made a decision regarding his future at Real Madrid - media

The Ukrainian goalkeeper will extend his contract with Los Blancos.

Ukrainian Real Madrid goalkeeper Andrey Lunin agreed to extend his contract with the Madrid club.

According to Relevo, the 25-year-old Ukrainian has already informed the Los Blancos management about his decision. The documents will be signed soon.

It is noted that Lunin’s new agreement with the Royal Club will be valid until 2029. According to it, Andrei’s salary will increase significantly, but a specific amount is not named. The Ukrainian's current contract with Real Madrid expires in June 2025.

According to the source, the Ukrainian goalkeeper believes that he can compete with the Belgian Thibaut Courtois for a place in the Blancos starting lineup against the background of his successful performance in this season.

At the same time, Lunin’s representatives and the Real Madrid management expect that in the near future there may be proposals from other clubs regarding a possible transfer of the Ukrainian, which they are ready to consider.

This season, Lunin played 30 matches for Real in all competitions, missed 28 goals and kept 12 clean sheets.

Andrei won the competition against the Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was on loan from the Madrid club from Chelsea, and became Real Madrid's main goalkeeper while Courtois was recovering from injury. The Belgian only recently returned to the field and played only two matches throughout the entire season.

The current campaign is going very well for Carlo Ancelotti's men. Real Madrid won the championship, the Spanish Super Cup, and also reached the final of the Champions League, where they will compete for the trophy with Borussia Dortmund on June 1 at Wembley Stadium in London.
