On August 21, U.S. President Donald Trump shared a photo on his Truth Social account, comparing his meeting with the illegitimate President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on August 15 in Alaska, to a visit to Moscow during the Cold War by U.S. Vice President Richard Nixon (who later became the 37th President of the United States), reports Baltimore Chronicle, with reference to Truth Social.
In the first image, Trump is seen speaking to Putin, pointing his index finger at Putin’s chest. In the second, Nixon makes a similar gesture towards Nikita Khrushchev, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

Earlier, Trump posted a statement about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, claiming that “it’s impossible to win a war without attacking the aggressor country.” According to him: “It’s like a fantastic sports team with great defense, but no ability to attack. Victory is impossible! The same goes for Ukraine and Russia.” Trump also once again blamed his predecessor, Joe Biden, for allegedly allowing Kremlin aggression, and promised “interesting times.”
