The United States is preparing to provide Ukraine with intelligence that would allow Kyiv to conduct long-range missile strikes against Russia’s energy infrastructure. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal citing American officials, according to the Baltimore Chronicle with reference to The Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, President Donald Trump’s administration is weighing the possibility of officially supplying Ukraine with long-range weapon systems. These capabilities would enable Ukrainian forces to expand the range of potential targets within Russian territory.
The report also states that Washington is urging NATO allies to take similar steps and strengthen their own assistance to Ukraine. Officials believe that coordinated actions among Western partners would significantly boost Kyiv’s operational effectiveness on the battlefield.
While the U.S. has been sharing intelligence with Ukraine for an extended period, the new development highlights a shift in approach. On Wednesday, officials emphasized that emerging technological capabilities would make it easier for Ukraine to strike oil refineries, pipelines, power plants, and other critical facilities. The main objective is to cut the Kremlin’s energy revenues and restrict access to vital oil resources.
