It is reported that during the debate on the government budget to solve refugee problems, the corresponding initiative was made by the deputy of the Dutch BBB party Mona Keyser.
“We cannot accept everyone. The West of Ukraine seems relatively stable to me. Can’t Ukrainians be housed there safely?”, — said the deputy.
At the same time, the representative of the political alliance GroenLinks/PvdA Julian Buschoff noted that Keizer's proposals are «new and alarming». According to him, it is not clear why the BBB is considering sending people back to a country in which there is a war.
Mona Keyser also proposed that Ukrainian citizens who find work in the Netherlands pay rent and medical care. Ukrainian refugees are now accommodated free of charge in municipal reception centers.
They also receive a living allowance ranging from 340 to 380 euros per month. The deputy also wants to study the question of whether it is possible to link the living wage that Ukrainians receive with the obligation to apply for work.
We recall that it was previously reported that the authorities have expanded assistance for IDPs: it has become known who else can count on payments.
