Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) provided data from the beginning of 2024.

About this information was reported by ISW, URA-Inform reports.

According to their data, Russian invaders have been able to advance in Ukraine by almost 100 square kilometers since the beginning of this year 2024.

They calculated that Russian troops have captured 505 square kilometers of territory since the beginning offensive operations in October 2023. However, from January 1 to March 28, 2024, they captured almost 100 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory.

«However, this slight increase in the speed of Russian advance did not reflects threats to the success of the Russian operation as U.S. security assistance delays continue», — the report says.

Analysts indicate that the shortage of weapons in Ukraine limits the ability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to conduct effective defensive operations. At the same time, it gives Russian forces the flexibility to conduct offensive operations.

Analysts have suggested that the arrival of adequate and regular Western security assistance and solutions to problems associated with Ukrainian manpower would reduce these opportunities for the Russians. armed forces and would provide Ukraine with the ability to stop Russia in minor tactical achievements.

We recall that it was previously reported that the Kyiv Defense Council held an urgent meeting: they called for remaining calm.
