Attack at sea. What happened to the VDK “Cesar Kunikov”
On February 14, the Crimean public appeared with news about the vibrations that the residents of Yalta and Alupka felt. According to the words of eyewitnesses, at first there were sleeping fires by the sea, then moonlights began to appear. It was also reported that windows were opening in Aluptsia, and one of the ships was in alarm.
Later, a video of detonation appeared on the great landing ship, I which was attacked and sank . Moreover, as it became clear, the bulges were chewed even after the ship sank under the water. The occupation power raised the helicopters for a search and ritual operation.
Within a few years, a statement was issued to the General Staff of the ZSU, which confirmed the operation carried out by the Head Intelligence Directorates, which resulted in the destruction of the great landing ship (VDK) “Cesar Kunikov”. At the time of the attack, it was in the territorial waters of Ukraine near Alupka.
As it was clarified by the Main Intelligence Directorate, the ship was attacked by sea drones. As a result, “Cesar Kunikov” missed critical holes on the port side and sank.
“It is symbolic that the Russian officer, after whom the ship was named, was hit exactly 81 times “, – said the intelligence agency.
Significantly, the VDK was named in honor of Caesar Kunikov, a Radian officer who, at the end of the Second World War, commanded the landing and burial of the Mala Zemlya bridgehead in the area of Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Territory). This time with open guns, he was mortally wounded on February 12, 1943 and died in two days.
Commenting on the situation with the Airborne Forces, Ukrainian Navy riverman Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that his colleagues from military intelligence were working on a “foreign project in the Black Sea” for the last time. And he ironically called the escape of dates “a rotten success”, because “not every Caesar can die twice in one day.”
As for the heirs, GUR representative Andriy Yusov, commenting on RBC-Ukraine, noted that most of the crew did not dare to lie.
“The ship is transporting vantage – ammunition. “Caesar Kunikov” is in ruins throughout, has sunk and does not continue to be renewed,” he added.
How long have Yusov and journalists discussed the attack on the VDK as a gift from the Ukrainians on Valentine's Day.
“It's a busy period, it's a busy time. Utim, and in these folding hours, Ukrainians and Ukrainians “To this end, the Head Intelligence Directorate and all the warehouses of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine greeted today's Ukrainians and Ukrainians on Valentine's Day… “Cesar Kunikov” is now on the days, and everyone is happy about it,” he said Vin
As of 19:00, the Russian side did not officially confirm the expenditure of the VDK. Volodymyr Putin's press secretary Dmitro Peskov redirected all supplies to the Ministry of Defense. Everything has not yet responded to the incident. However, intelligence passed on the negotiations to the crew of the military helicopter about the tricks and the oil spill in the sea.
The anonymous Telegram channel “Kremlin snuffbox” writes that there were six T-90 and T-72 tanks on board, shells for tanks and artillery that were unlikely to reach the combat zone. Also, the bodies of four dead were never found, and another 12 members of the crew are considered unknown. For the power steering data, for 10 days, “Cesar Kunikov” was in station, and, for the forward data, at the time of the attack.
Military naval expert, Defense Express surveyor Volodymyr Zablotsky , that the attack by unmanned boats was carried out according to all the canons and classics of the genre.
“Five or six units arrived to the “point of contact”, which was based on reconnaissance data, attacked from various directions and caused damage, not crazy from their lives. After which the ship sank and sank. boat “Ivanovets” ( sinkings) in the Nich by 1 severe, – ed.), they stagnated the very same tactics,” indicating fault in the commentary of RBC-Ukraine.

Golovne about the great landing ship “Cesar Kunikov”
“Cesar Kunikov” is a great landing ship of Project 775, which was commissioned in 1986. Beyond the SRSR, entering the warehouse of the 197th brigade of the 39th division with bases in Novoozernoye (Crimea), Donuzlav. At the hour of the division of the Black Sea Fleet between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, it moved to the Russian base in Sevastopol.
It took part in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo (1999), the war against Georgia in 2008 ci, and in mid-2010s – the secure Syrian regular army has enough ammunition. In 2022, plans will begin within the framework of a large-scale invasion of Russia to Ukraine.
According to Zablotsky, “Cesar Kunikov” is the same as the previously destroyed VDK “Novocherkassk” and “Minsk”.< /p>
“The stinks are like twin brothers, all of them were produced at the Stocznia Polnocna shipyard in the Polish Gdansk in the late 1980s. They are far from new, but the Russians don’t have anything good. Before the invasion, the stinks were taken from the Black Sea.” ku” with airborne landing complex of three fleets. І we can say that we have spent a lot of money not only on the Black Sea, but also on the Baltic and Pivnichny,” he said.
“Cesar Kunikov” is no longer under attack. Zokrema, France 24 February 2022 Ukrainian Tochka-U missiles attacked ships near the port of buried Berdyansk.
“The airborne landing complex “Saratov” was destroyed, the “Cesar Kunikov” and “Novocherkassk” were in line “, as they were waiting for the destruction. But they took off the damage, got busy, quickly cut off the mooring lines and flowed in,” the expert said.
Over the past few years, it has become known about the death of commander Oleksandr Chirvi, apparently as a result of his injuries. Through the river VDK vyishov iz repair.

Standard Ozbrnnyam for the VDK project 775 є DVIKOVI RSPV “Grad-M” for the shelter of the Beregovikh Ukrіpli, two chapter artillery installations of the AK-725 Distanium with one AK-176 unit and two AK-630M units. Their presence on the “Caesar Kunikov” turned out to be ineffective against Ukrainian surface drones.
How Ukrainian forces sank Chergov's airborne landing ship
According to intelligence sources, the Caesar Kunikov was attacked by Magura V5 surface drones. The Defense Express profile provides a detailed analysis of the strike. The first drone approached from the side of the shore in order to hit the airborne landing craft at the bow, which is the spilling area. Judging by the video, there were no automatic robots, so the sailors tried to shoot down the drone with automatic weapons. The result is completely natural, and, more than anything else, the first Magura V5 created a hole in the head hold.
The other one struck from the side of the sea, they also tried to shoot him down with a machine gun and still unsuccessfully. The impact from the propulsion side fell on the propulsion unit in the remaining third hull. Then the third drone was in the same direction, and the fourth was recorded on the VDK video with a significant roll on board.
The Ukrainian fleet of surface drones again yielded results. It’s too early to call them the most effective defense against Russian ships, says Volodymyr Zablotsky.
“We also have winged missiles, sea and coastal bases, and the same functions. Sea mines, surface drones of many modifications, and underwater drones. It is clear that underwater UAVs have begun to show themselves. we've already talked about trying the passage of Sevastopol, and the boat got caught last year fate (near the beginning of 2023, on the outer roadstead of the Sevastopol Bay, the boat “Volodymyr Kozitsky” sank, – ed.). Out of here. Tobto At the moment we need it, we can install it, and the enemy still doesn’t know about it,” the expert said.

Muttering about the detonation at the Tsezar Kunikov airborne landing complex, Zablotsky admits that they can transport more than enough ammunition .
“Near the area where he was killed, there is Miss Chauda – one of the Maidans from which they launch “shaheeds” across Ukraine. How do they remove the stink from the Black Sea? Through the Caspian Sea “Iran, far to Novorossiysk by the sea, and then by sea to Crimea. As an option, this could have happened from the Novocherkassk airborne recreation center in Feodosia at the chest,” he added.
How many more airborne landing ships are near the Black Sea and how their depletion affects the logistics of the Russian Federation
“Tesar Kunikov” becoming the fourth Russian airborne landing ship, will be sunk by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Until that day, on the 26th, Novocherkassk was knocked down by a Storm Shadow attack, as was Minsk on the 13th at the plant in Sevastopol, and the Saratov airborne landing complex fell to the bottom as a result of the Tochko-U attack near Berezna in 2022. The fifth ship “Olenegorsk Miner” was hit by drones during the Novorossiysk flight of 2023.
As stated by Ukrainian Navy river boatman Dmitro Pletenchuk, after the depletion of the “Tsezar Kunikov” of 13 ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, the ranks will be deprived of five more units. Even though there are great landing ships of various projects, including those with registration to other fleets, then without the arrangement of the Olenegorsk Miner, the BDK production warehouse consists of eight ships:
-
Project 11711 ship “Petro Morgunov” (Navy Fleet)
-
two ships of project 1171 “Mikola Filchenkov” and ” Orsk” (offense – Black Sea Fleet)
-
five ships of project 775 “Yamal” and “Azov” (resentment – Black Sea Fleet), “Korolov” and “Kaliningrad” (resentment – Baltic Fleet) “George Pobedonosets” (Sunday Fleet).
“At the beginning of the invasion there were 13 BDKs, five were “dismantled”, as if they were definitely not going to turn around. And of those eight, two were under repair. The axle and everything that was lost,” – Responsible for seeing Volodymyr Zablotsky.
It is significant that the Russian great landing ships have not been victorious for direct reasons for a long time. In addition, operations from landings are impossible due to the replacement of approaches to the Ukrainian shores and the presence of anti-ship capabilities. Therefore, it is important for the Airborne Forces to deal with military logistics.
From this point of view, attacks on Russian ships may have an important goal – to disrupt the occupation of the groupings. And, most importantly, the Nishny River can become significant, especially due to the pressure of the commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Nezhpapa on the fact that the Crimean Bridge will not be built in 2024. This plan may have the so-called “blizzard effect” if, it seems, the loss of a small element is not transferred directly to the battlefield.
“Attacks on great ships, obviously, can be affected by one of them stages of logistics. This is an important element that the occupiers are fighting to protect the garrison in Crimea and not only that. I guess the river is no longer blooming and got back to the good news,” added the expert.
