The IOC did not allow the two-time Olympic champion from Russia to participate in the qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympic Games

Abdulrashid Sadulayev participated in a concert-meeting at Luzhniki dedicated to the eighth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol .

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not allow the Russian wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulayevto participate in a licensed tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan for selection for the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.

This is reported on the official website of the United World Wrestling.

It is noted that this is the second such decision regarding Sadulayev. Thus, in February, a two-time Olympic champion from Russia was not allowed into Romania on a Schengen visa and was not given the opportunity to compete at the European Championships.

Sadulayev was disqualified from the licensing tournament in Baku after the commission discovered new information about his support for Russia's war against Ukraine.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, in March 2022, Sadulayev took part in concert-meetingat the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow, dedicated to the eighth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol, at which Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke.

The Summer Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11 2024.

We recall that on December 8, 2023, the IOC decided toadmitRussians and Belarusians to the 2024 Olympics as “individual neutral athletes.” They will only be able to compete in individual competitions, while teams from aggressor countries will not be allowed. Any national symbols of the Russian Federation and Belarus are also prohibited – anthems, flags, etc.

In addition, Russian and Belarusian athletes who publicly support the war or have contracts with the armies of aggressor states will not be allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games .
