WhatsApp continues to enhance the user experience with new features aimed at simplifying everyday communication. In the latest Android beta version 2.25.31, the company is testing two major updates designed to improve media organization and storage management, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to WABetaInfo.
The first update introduces an improved filtering system within the “Media, Links, and Documents” section in chat information. Previously, users could sort only photos, videos, documents, and links. The new version now includes an additional filter specifically for stickers — a welcome change for users of active group chats, where stickers often get lost among other media. With this addition, stickers can now be viewed independently, creating a cleaner and more intuitive interface. Users can simply tap to choose which type of content they want to display, making navigation smoother and more efficient.
The second update focuses on better storage management. A new “Manage Chat Storage” option now allows users to review which files take up the most space directly from the chat info screen and delete them instantly. In the past, this required navigating through settings, but the new system streamlines the process and gives users immediate control over their device’s memory usage.
The redesigned storage panel sorts all shared files by size, helping users quickly identify large or unnecessary items. Videos, images, and documents can be deleted individually or in bulk, while important files can be marked for retention. This helps keep devices free from digital clutter without risking the loss of valuable data.
It is not yet known when the new features will be rolled out to all users. For now, they remain available only in the Android beta version, but WhatsApp is expected to release them widely soon.
