Rockstar Games has delayed GTA VI again — the release is now scheduled for November 19, 2026. Take-Two Interactive shares dropped by up to 10% after the announcement.

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed a second delay in the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. The long-awaited game is now set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing the official Rockstar Games website.

In an official statement, the studio apologized to fans for the delay, explaining that the extra time is needed to refine and polish the game to perfection. “We regret extending the wait, but these additional months will allow us to deliver the level of quality you expect and deserve,” Rockstar said. The developers emphasized that their main goal is to achieve the same level of excellence that players saw in Red Dead Redemption 2.

The announcement immediately affected the stock market performance of the parent company, Take-Two Interactive, whose shares dropped by 7–10% following the news. Analysts linked the decline to expected financial losses, as GTA VI was meant to be the company’s flagship release for 2026. The game’s absence from the first half of the year could significantly impact overall sales.

Previously, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that the company was confident in a May 2026 release window. However, with the new date now set for November, the delay indicates Rockstar’s determination to deliver the highest possible quality before the official launch.
