Draft law No. 14037 proposes deferment from mobilization for those who provide housing to displaced persons, explains MP Heorhii Mazurashu.

A draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, proposing a deferment from mobilization for individuals who provide their housing free of charge to two or more internally displaced persons (IDPs), reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the Verkhovna Rada website. Draft law No. 14037 has been published on the parliament’s official portal.

The author of the initiative is Member of Parliament Heorhii Mazurashu, who has previously drawn public attention with controversial legislative proposals.

According to the explanatory note to draft law No. 14037, the purpose of the document is to address the housing problems faced by internally displaced persons. Mazurashu noted that in different regions of Ukraine, there are housing units temporarily unused by their owners, which could be provided to IDPs if appropriate incentives were introduced.

The draft law stipulates that conscripts who offer their housing for permanent or temporary accommodation of two or more displaced persons will be granted a deferment from mobilization.
