Iran’s oil exports surged to 2.33 million barrels per day after Israeli airstrikes conducted on June 13. This figure is 44% higher than the average daily volume recorded since the beginning of the year, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing Bloomberg.

According to analysts from TankerTrackers.com, which monitors movements of the so-called “shadow fleet,” Tehran’s export boost is a response to potential instability. Iranian authorities are reportedly rushing to sell off accumulated oil supplies while their transport routes remain under control.

The country’s largest oil terminal, located on Kharg Island, is currently operating at full capacity. Experts note that this level of congestion is unusual during periods of active exports. Samir Madani, co-founder of TankerTrackers.com, stated that Iran’s main priority is now the safety of oil deliveries. Tankers are no longer staying near the island for extended periods; instead, they are loading quickly and immediately heading out to sea.

Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz — the vital passageway for much of the oil transported from the Persian Gulf — remains open. The continued operation of this maritime corridor is essential for maintaining the stability of global energy supplies.
